When it comes to staying healthy and taking care of your body, the absolute best thing you can do is drink plenty of water. I’m sure you’ve heard that many times, but you may not completely realize all of the amazing benefits water can have on the body.
Here is a list of just a few reasons to drink more water!
1. Clearer Skin
Trying to keep your skin blemish free can be a real challenge, especially for teenagers. Water helps to flush out toxins which can cause inflammation and acne.

2. Energy Boost
One of the symptoms of dehydration is tiredness, so skip the caffeine for a glass of water next time you “accidentally” stayed up all night watching Netflix.

3. Less Headaches
Sometimes headaches are caused by dehydration (or math homework), but it never hurts to try to grab a water bottle, just to be safe.

4. Pain Prevention
If you have a strenuous work out or are simply just achy, water can help to rehydrate the muscles and make them feel a whole lot better.

5. Weight Control
Regulating weight is really important to staying healthy, and sometimes when you think you’re hungry, you’re really just thirsty!

6. Healthier Metabolism
Water carries oxygen, nutrients, and hormones throughout your body, as well as removes waste and toxins. Proteins and enzymes also need water to function properly.

The list could go on and on, but you get the point. Getting enough water in your system is critical for your health and body. As a rule of thumb, you should drink half of your body weight in ounces, so if you weigh 120lbs you should drink 60oz each day. Water can also come from your diet, fruits and vegetables especially contain a large amount of water.

So in the wise words of Rihanna, pour it up.
