Many parents are adding their names to the long list of people who are having issues with their children’s busing from school. In Buffalo, there has been a bus driver shortage that is causing students from Buffalo Public School to come home from school up to three hours late. Parents are also receiving phone calls saying that there is no one to pick up their child and they will either have to wait for a couple hours or take them to school themselves. The lack of transportation puts parents in a challenging situation. How do I get my children to school and not be late to work? First Student is currently training many driver candidates, but the process can take time as the drivers have to pass background checks and other qualifications. First Student and Buffalo Public Schools have met to start addressing these issues.
